Production Planning

On this page I am going to add the idea that we have created and are using for our final production, I will show all the different ideas we decide to include in our opening including location ideas, titles, fonts, sound edits and many other elements that are appropriate to our genre of thriller.
                                                  Production Ideas

After looking into already existing, we decided to brain storm our ideas which we got from analyzing existing thrillers and taking notes on what techniques they use.
Mind Map created by shan_neal with ExamTime
After mind mapping our idea's for our opening we decided to base our final piece around the theme of fraud and fitting the sub genre of Crime Thriller ,which can be shown below.

Below are our the titles of the film we considered using and the title we decided on calling our film.

Logo Ideas
Below are the logos we considered using for the production and distribution companies during the opening of our film. This presentation shows the ideas we considered and our final choices.

Below are location idea we considered using as the setting for our  film opening .

Story Board :

Shot one and two, will show the production and distribution logo. The soundtrack here will be eerie and begin to fade in creating tension. These will each be around 4 seconds long.
Shot three

will be an establishing shot, which will show a close up of the fire, burning the passport and a newspaper connoting what the antagonist has done and that she has escaped prison- due to a murder. The soundtrack will be the same, but have built up more

Shot four will show an over the shoulder shot of the antagonist, looking into the fire as the paper burns
- the girls full face isn't shown in the shots until the end- a method to build tension.

Shot five and six will show a flashback, with effects of the antagonists past doings - e.g. the weapon she used or the destruction made, like smashed glass. These sequences will be slower as a way to build tension and add detail

Shot Seven will cut back to the main sequence, with a side profile of the girl - as she does what before. Ambient sound and the same soundtrack from the start will be present.

Shot eight - will show the line up of the convicts - with the antagonist looking suspicious and confident.

Shot nine - twelve will show how the antagonist escaped and changed her identity to get out- as each shot will show how she changed her identity.

Shot thirteen - sixteen will again show how she changes her identity, such as putting on make up, changing her eye colour through contacts and changing outfit.

Shot seventeen will pan to show the whole antagonists face, with her changed identity. This is when the soundtrack will cut off completely.

Shot eighteen, the last shot will cut again to fire at the start in order to show the main title. The soundtrack here will be ambient and a very dramatic non-diegetic soundtrack.

Costume

Above our the costume ideas that we think would suit our antagonist during our production. The first costume idea is based on the theme of prison. We would dress our antagonist in plain grey clothes which would help create verisimilitude of her being in prison. She would have her hair up with no make up on making it easier to make the transaction of her changing her identity ,based on her look.
The second picture is what we would dress the antagonist in once she's escaped from prison. The costume helps her to disguise herself as a police officer. The navy colours help to make it look formal and is a stereotype of a female police officer ( e.g. by having her in a skirt). The police hat would be used as a prop in order to help her to cover her face so she isn't recognizable once she's escaped.

This is a mood board of what we think our antagonist make-up would look like and the props she would use when she is changing her identity. While she is in prison her would be up so when she escapes her hair would be down which would make her less recognizable. She would wear a red colour lipstick which is normally associated with female antagonist .The bag and passport would be used as a prop in order to help her change her identity. She would burn her old passport and get a new fake one in order to create a new identity. The bag would be used in the prison to hide her clothes in. The coat and police hat would help hide her appearance so she cannot be discovered by the police or the public helping to make her unrecognizable.
